Be wise.

Am I the only one who wants to get rid of this saying? “during these economic times”
It has become so common it can be heard from coffee shop conversation to advertisements for cars and adult diapers (both may be applicable, but that’s beside the point).

It’s natural to cling to what is familiar in uncertain times. It’s also natural to weigh economic climate with the decisions we make. And it’s prudent to make wise decisions during tough times – much as it’s wise to plan for these tough times during the good.

The lack of planning and subsequent panic is what we are witnessing now. But we must balance our energy between focusing on how things got to where they are and what we’re going to do about it. Uncertain times can cause worry or they can fill you with inspiration.

I feel blessed to still be standing and so should you – wherever it is that you are currently standing. It may not be where you initially planned, but if you’re still breathing and still have the will to fight and create – all is not lost, rather all is within your reach.

So I do encourage you to be wise. Be wise with the decisions you make and where you focus your energy. And I must ask, is it wise to give up, fold your hand, play it safe or wait to see what your competitor does next? If you’re still standing there are opportunities to be had. Get creative, step outside of your comfort zone and make your mark. Isn’t it time to be wise?

During these economic times, we … oh, never mind! I agree with you. There’s work to be done.
